Top 7 Dropout cast members
Based on who I like, who are objectively good at what they're doing, and who are great and funny even outside the Dropout context - I may not have seen what they've done outside of Dropout, but it can't just be me ranking based on the parasocial feeling I get when I see someone on my screen many times and start to believe we're friends. They're all very likeable and great on camera, so it's easy to start liking everyone for that reason.
The list (in no specific order):
Josh Ruben - for being great on Make Some Noise.
Jess McKenna - for Make Some Noise, creating song lyrics on the spot, and sounding slightly like an animated character.
Katie Marovitch - not comparable to anyone. Is in her own league. Most relatable and most unrelatable person, and I'm also slightly in love with her.
Grant O'Brien - I can't point at any objective qualites more than that I'm magnetically drawn to him. Charismatic and funny, and sometimes funny because he's so charismatic.
Jacob Wysocki - always funny and fun, 10/10 in effort and passion.
Lisa Gilroy - hasn't been in much yet, but everything she's been in has been really good.
Raph Chestang - likeable (has a great laugh and a great attitude towards life, I think), good in old sketches and series and good in the newer shows.
Dropout were "College Humor" earlier, and made sketches in a pretty limited format because they needed "clicks". The type of gang to make sketches about Facebook in 2014, or whatever subject people love to have discussions on. Sketches like "That person who never puts away their coffee mug" (not a real example, but wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be), where the title explains the joke so you don't even have to watch it to know what will happen. Now they mostly make unscripted game shows, for a paying audience, which allows them to not having to abide to the algorithm and be much more free and creative with the format. This makes the content so much better. "Game Changer" is among the most innovative pieces of entertainment I've seen. It's confusing how all these great writers, actors and comedians could make so many so-so half-boring sketches in the late 2010s (absolutely good ones too now and then, because the talent is there, somewhere), when the stuff they make today is so unique, futuristic and genuinely fun.
What people seem to have forgotten is that around 2020 they made some really good scripted comedy series, with great production, writing and performance. Imagine the good parts from their sketches with a great production and artistic vision. Too bad they only did this for around a year, because it's the best things they've made. Even if 2025 Dropout is so much better than 2018 College Humor, scripted content have a potential to become timeless and inspiring in a way that the game shows mostly don't have.
So, that's the content I've watched to create this list (late College Humor, early Dropout and current Dropout).
